Bio:
For DJ Toxicangel listening electronic music started around 1990. Within this time he went to the first parties and was soon facinated by the work of the dj’s. Together with a friend he bought his first vinyl and two MKII’s in 1994.
This was the beginning of the journey thru the techno-nightlife. It was a slow but steady move from the dancefloor to the mixer and one of the most important events in his way was the first set behind the spiderdecks. One of the keyevents in his dj-career was in the summer 1999. It was when he was asked by roland brunner to work as a resident dj in one of the most influencing clubs in zurich for the next decade.
The start was togehter with Marc Fuhrmann and Michael K. Both well known players in switzerland and it worked out great.
On a high technic level and with an increasing experience to let the crowd rock the floor, Toxicangel played togehter with most of zurichs finest dj’s. Even with international acts like Marc Houle, Pascal F.E.O.S., Nick Warren, dj Reche (Ibiza), and so on was the party rolling. The first sets have been around 1.5 hours. Since then Toxicangel developed the strength and persistance to play marathonsets for over seven hours or more.
Spidergalaxy(zh), Pfingstweide(zh), Labyrinth(zh), Bleifrei (ag), Kiste (ag), Kiff (ag), District 4 (zh), Garage (bs), Reaktor (zh), Labitzke (zh), Vario (so), Kugl (sg), Momentum (ag), Attic (zh), Elektrokeller (sg), Raumstation (sg), Boiler(ag), Aaah (zh), Deadend (be), Havana (monterrey, mx), Skizzo (monterrey, mx), Mad Atitude (quito, ec) and Ramon Antigua (quito, ec) are just a few clubs he played and the number is growing.
In the end of 2006 Dj Toxicangel started to fool around with his computer and tractor. Because of international events and the difficulties to work with vinyl in other parts of the world he decided to push the digital thing to a more professional level.
In 2009 DJ Toxicangel became part of the Galaxy Space Night Radio Show team as part of the Active Beats sublabel. Together with DJ Manuell as a moderation team, he is having regularly saturday radio shows on the swiss stations Rabe.ch and Stadtfilter.ch. Tune in and enjoy the beats.
In 2012 DJ Toxicangel decided to give his pation for long, deep and continuously pushing deep sets and warmups a new name. This name is Karl Knatter and with this name he limits himself only to a maximum of 122 beats per minute, besides that everything which has a lot of groove, dirt and sex is just the beginning. For him the advantage of tracks which are played slightly slower is that their base drums are very often much wider and sound just FAT. Look out for the name Karl Knatter because Knatter is not just the name but the sound as well.
